Sanyo’s 2009 HD Xacti camcorder lineup brings a trio of world’s firsts

Engadget is a Japanese Sanyo presser, when her much loved Xacti camcorder will be revised. The 5-strong mix of new and pistol grip, horizontally oriented camcorders includes several world’s first according to Sanyo, the world’s first to shoot progressive, Full HD 1920 x 1080 video at 60fps (models DMX-HD2000 FH11 picture above), the world’s first HD waterproof cameras (CA9 DMX and DMX-EH 1 with 30x optical zoom), and the world’s first HD camera to shoot 10 megapixel images (DMX-CG10). All cameras to shoot in MPEG-4 AVC H.264 format for broad compatibility with devices and video-editing software. The DMX-HD2000 is on the streets until 6 February with the rest to trickle before April is. Prices were not announced, but we expect this to be competitive, as always.
