8TB NAS by Western Digital

While it may look like Western Digital has in the mini-fridge company, which is not the case. The search giant silver box is a 8TB Network Attached Storage device with Gigabit Ethernet. Nope, this is not a typo-eight terabytes in a box with Gigabit Ethernet. It is the WD Share Space and is DLNA certified. DLNA-certified devices are interoperable, which means that you do not have to make things. If you have a TV with DLNA or PS3 or Xbox 360, you must access the WD share space without much work at all.

The biggest drag is the energy consumption. The Share Space used WD Green Power drives, WD figures 33% less energy used on the basis of their tests with a 1-TB dual-drive with 1 TB Green Power in comparison to dual-drive system using 7200 RPM drives.

This can be good for people who love to hoard data. The 8TB version comes this week.
