Eight-core Apple Mac Pro desktop

Eight-core Apple Mac Pro desktopApple just revved its Mac Pro line, and at the top of the feature list is the latest Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processors. Apple says the new Mac Pro with two quad-core 2.93GHz Intel processor is twice as fast as its dual-quad-core 3.2GHz predecessor in memory throughput and 1.5x faster integer calculation. Despite this fast parts inside that same unstackable, yet attractive aluminum case Apple stuck with.

But it is not a bad deal in the scheme of things Apple, taking into account these new Macs cost less than the old. The fact that Apple stopped briefly on the 2.93GHz Nehalem chip, and does not provide the fastest W5580 Xeon 3.2GHz Nehalem, has given us the head scratching.
