
Samsung on Tuesday announced the imminent publication of the latest Blu-ray home theater system, the HT-BD3252. The 5.1-channel system consists of wireless rear speakers and a built-in Wi-Fi connection for access to a multimedia library, visit the user’s PC. Rated at 1,000 W total power, the Bio-Sport cone-and kelp-speakers has an automatic sound calibration function, a microphone to the speaker for a particular space. A number of HD audio formats, including the latest Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio standards.
The HT-BD3252 the bundled Blu-ray player supports BD-Live content, so that they have access to online content on select Blu-ray discs with an Ethernet port or the included wireless USB dongle. Paid and subscription services like Netflix and Pandora are also directly from the player interface. This fall, a promised firmware upgrade will connect users Blockbuster Video OnDemand service.
Local playback options include a USB-connected device, a portable hard drive, the above networked PC and an iPod dock. Remaining liabilities consist of a single HDMI-CEC output, composite output, two HDMI-CEC inputs and one optical input.
The HT-BD3252 will ship in August.
