What is a global village?
A global village has been discussed since the 90s, and yet it is arguable that a true global village has only recently begun to emerge. One where we are able to shop in the same places, access similar educational and medical support and advice, and compete for the same jobs in an open marketplace.

We do indeed live in the information age, and one of the most shared and transmitted items in our lives is now information. The internet and access to the right technology allow anyone to access and share/transmit and use the available information on the internet.

This can now all be accessed via the internet and on the metaverse and has totally changed the manner in which we view education and specialist advice around the world.

One of the biggest changes heralded by the explosion of the internet and its widespread adoption is the fact that you can now buy anything from anywhere as long as you have access to the internet, and it can be delivered to your chosen address.

There is some basic technology/hardware and software that you will need to be able to fully engage with the information, entertainment, and data that is available on the internet. There is no point in being connected and then not having the right kind of monitor, speakers, or microphone to be able to fully interact in the metaverse.

If you’re shopping on the internet and the goods you want are being dispatched from across the globe, you will need to have a decent system of logistics and delivery at your disposal. For many in the developing world, a delivery address that is accepted is a major stumbling block to access to the emerging global village and affects equity in the information age.
We are entering an era of a true global village. Although it is apparent that all are able to engage, and the internet has reached across the globe, it is arguably the access to the tech that many of us take for granted that is the true key to opening up access to a true global village.
